I am a serious Disney freak and I have quite a bit of knowledge about the subject stored in my head. So I figure IT can share it with the rest of the Tumblrverse.
Facts here are about anything and everything Disney, including movies, both animated and live action, cartoons and shows, characters, the parks, and Walt, the man himself.
I'd love to know what you guys know so send me any facts you might happen to have in your heads.
I have a question! What are imagineers? x
Imagineers are responsible for the creation and construction of the Disney Theme Parks. and much more.
The Imagineering division of the Walt Disney Corporation includes masses of different disciplines from show writers, architects, engineers, graphic designers, light designers, artists, and a lot more than I can even think of right now.
They design the rides, the hotels, the shops, the shows, and almost everything you see in the Disney parks, resorts, cruise ships. They designed the first Disney store, Castway Cay, Disney Quest, and anything else Disney that you can physically see and touch. Imagineers also were in charge of the closing ceremonies of the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley, California. They’re also the people who decide where to place hidden Mickeys.
In short, Imagineers are the people who can, and do, make Disney a physical reality.

Of the main characters in Frozen, all five were voiced by actors who had previously had major starring roles on Broadway. Idina Menzel, the voice of Elsa, starred in the original Broadways casts of Rent and Wicked as Maureen and Elphaba, respectively. Josh Gad, who voiced Olaf the snowman, was the original actor to portray Elder Arnold Cunningham in The Book of Mormon on Broadway. Jonathon Groff, the voice of Kristoff, originated the role of Melchoir in Spring Awakening in its Broadway debut. Though not best known for it, Kristen Bell also originated the role of Becky Thatcher in the stage musical adaptation of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
While filming The Princess Diaries in 2001, Garry Marshall, the movie’s director, was living the same house that Julie Andrews was living in while she was filming Mary Poppins around 40 years earlier.
Wreck It Ralph has a huge cast. 188 characters are shown throughout the movie, about 60 of them being characters from classic video arcade games. Some of the classic characters include Root Beer Tapper, Dig Dug, Frogger, Dr. Eggman, Sonic, Q*Bert, Clyde the Pacman ghost, and Bowser, among many more.
Minty Zaki, one of the Sugar Rush racers from Wreck It Ralph, is named after Hayao Miyazaki, the animator well known for his work on Studio Ghibli films such as Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Howl’s Moving Castle.
The combination that King Candy uses to enter Sugar Rush’s code is the world famous Konami code, used commonly as a cheat code in many Nintendo Games.
Paul Chapman is a stained glass specialist who had helped work on the restoration of the windows in the Notre Dame Cathedral. When asked, though in his 80s, he did not hesitate to assist with and supervise the creation of the stained glass windows in Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disneyland Paris depicting scenes from the movie.
